Twice a year the town of Elm, Switzerland, gathers for the incredible spectacle of the Martinsloch sunrise. This year, professional highliner Stephan Siegrist witnessed it from a new vantage point.
The Martinsloch — meaning Martin’s Hole — sunrise has been the most anticipated event in Elm for hundreds of years. For a fleeting and spectacular moment twice each year, a ray of sunlight pierces a natural hole in the Tschingel Horns rock face. The athlete highlining the hole makes this a once-in-a-liftetime event.
