Tepui has made its name in the rooftop tent world. Now, the brand expands into a suite of car-camping goodies.
While Tepui is famous for its rooftop tents (RTTs), it also makes some burly gear transport bags. At this year’s Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, the brand expanded that line further, even taking home a GearJunkie Best in Show award.
Tepui‘s new offerings include two RTT models, an update to its hardshell RTT, and a line of camp furniture. Check it out.
Tepui Camp Furniture
Tepui Camp Lounge
The all-new Camp Lounge includes two chairs, a two-seater couch, and a table. While all the components aren’t super unique, they sport some nice features and look high quality. The standout attribute of this camp furniture set is a carrying case that holds everything: the ultimate grab-n-go portable living room.
The camp chairs have a low, reclined design with mesh backs for ventilation and integrated drink holders. The two-seater couch includes mesh storage pockets and more drink holders. And the table sports adjustable telescoping legs, with self-stabilizing feet for a flat, sturdy table on any terrain.
You can get your hands on the Tepui Camp Lounge furniture set in spring 2019 for $295.
Tepui Kitchen
In the same vein as the Camp Lounge, the Kitchen set is an all-in-one system that comes in a handy carrying case. The whole thing packs down pretty slim and is made of aluminum for lightweight, easy transport.
The main component of the Tepui Kitchen is a prep/wash station. It features a large food prep surface, a washing basin, a lantern pole, hooks for cooking tools, a towel rung, removable shelves, and a trash bag holder.
The second component in the set is a small cook station. Tepui designed it to hold a large camp stove, plus it has wind block panels and a lower storage shelf.
The Tepui Kitchen set will be available in spring 2019 and cost $265.
Gear Bags: Tepui Recycled Duffels
Besides all the new tents and camp furniture Tepui also showed off a new line of gear bags it’s working on. The line will consist of different-size duffels made from used tent covers. Given the material, these should be burly bags with tons of character. Best of all, the bags help keep some of Tepui’s older products out of the landfill a bit longer.
Tepui Rooftop Tents
Tepui HyBox
Let’s first dig into what the HyBox is all about, as it really caught our eye at Outdoor Retailer. The idea behind the HyBox is that you can use it as a cargo carrier when you don’t need it as a tent. This is multiuse adventure gear at its finest!
The full pop-up design allows for a ton of interior living space, as well as dual side openings for loading gear. Gas struts make it easier and quicker to deploy and put away.
Its ABS shell is lightweight, durable, and aerodynamic. The RTT’s main feature is the Tepui Zipper Gimp system, which allows you to zip off the tent canopy when you want it out of the way for carrying cargo. And the brand’s universal mounting system allows you to mount the HyBox directly to your vehicle’s roof rails or your favorite aftermarket bars.
The Tepui HyBox will be available in December for $2,800.
Tepui Low-Pro
The Low-Pro is touted as the “lowest softshell rooftop tent on the market.” It measures 7 inches thick, which is really low profile. It should offer much-improved aerodynamics over competitors.
While we haven’t measured all the RTTs out there, we did cover the recently announced Go Fast Campers Platform Tent. The brand claims it’s 6 inches thick when closed. But unlike the Low-Pro, it has a hard shell.
Tepui says its TEC composite tent base is “where lightweight meets indestructible.” At only 103 pounds, it’s quite light for an RTT. And Tepui constructed it using 100 percent recyclable cellularized thermoplastic materials. Shoppers will identify this new base by its Tepui Blue color.
A variety of canopy options, in terms of colors and materials, will be available thanks to Tepui’s Zipper Gimp technology achieves this. Zipper Gimp allows users to fully unzip and remove the tent canopy from the base and replace it. The tent canopy also has a new spacious, curved canopy design, which gives it a different look while retaining living space in the tent.
The Tepui Low-Pro will hit the market in spring 2019 for $1,625.
Lightning Hardshell Tent
The Lightning hardshell tent is better than ever. Tepui’s first foray into hardshell RTTs, this tent has gone through a few iterations over the past few years. The design and manufacturing are fully dialed in on this American-made RTT.
Tepui’s 9-inch, low-profile design of the fiberglass composite shell helps with aerodynamics. And a fully upholstered interior and solar-powered vent fan help make this tent livable in a wide range of environments.
Its built-in roof rails on top are truly great for outdoor adventure. These rails provide gear transport options on your roof, which you typically lose when adding an RTT to your vehicle.
The redesigned Tepui Lightning hardshell RTT will be available this December for $3,800.
