Powerhouse Collab: HOKA, Cotopaxi Release Limited-Edition Trail Gear

This limited-edition collection offers up a colorful collaboration between two of Cotopaxi and HOKA’s signature items.

Introducing two brands that need no introduction: Footwear megalodon HOKA ONE ONE and B-corp darling Cotopaxi have partnered for a limited-edition collection that’s all things fun, colorful, and functional.

The collaboration features just two (essential) gear items: trail shoes and a backpack. Specifically, a Cotopaxi style of HOKA’s Torrent 2 trail shoe and a HOKA-infused Cotopaxi Batac Del Día backpack.

The Torrent 2 ($130) is a lightweight, nimble trail shoe designed to be agile on challenging terrain yet also deliver a smooth ride. These have been a hallmark of HOKA since the brand’s inception over 10 years ago. The shoes feature post-consumer recycled plastic in the uppers (vibing with both brands’ sustainability efforts) and a new color scheme.

Meanwhile, the Batac 16L Del Día Backpack ($65) is made of repurposed materials (the same construction as usual) and offers lots of versatility, making it a great school pack, gym bag, climbing bag, or commuter pack. New for the collab, Cotopaxi added some signature HOKA-style striping and logo.

Both pieces of gear have bold colors, graphic line patterns, and color blocking to “celebrate the bold, empowering, unapologetic ethos of HOKA and Cotopaxi,” wrote the brands.

“Our mission is to empower all athletes to fly, and the HOKA x Cotopaxi collaboration starkly highlights the bold and unexpected approach HOKA has always taken in pursuit of that mission,” said Gretchen Weimer, HOKA vice president of product. “Partnering with a like-minded brand in Cotopaxi helps us empower more people to explore their world.”

Cotopaxi Questival

This limited-edition collection also serves as inspiration for Cotopaxi’s virtual Questival scavenger hunt this year. “Tying into the design, the theme of this Questival is ‘Chase the Bright Side,'” the brands wrote.

Proceeds from the event will go to Big City Mountaineers (BCM), an organization providing free, fully outfitted, professionally led backcountry trips for youth from disinvested communities. HOKA and Cotopaxi are also donating a portion of all sales from the collaboration items to Big City Mountaineers.
