This brief edit follows the esteemed adventure photographer on a ride from the bustling confines of his studio to a minimalist campout out on the Cali shore.
As one of the world’s most experienced and in-demand shutterbugs, Chris Burkard is a busy, busy guy. But when the chance to unwind and reset arises, he guns for his bicycle.
“It’s never been more important for me to find outlets, to find even the smallest adventures — because that’s what fuels me creatively,” he explains, walking eagerly from his desk toward his pack-laden bike.
Burkard has traveled to the deepest jungles and barest tundras, but his philosophy is simple: “If there’s anything I’ve learned, it’s that you can find inspiration just out your front door.”
Take a look.
