It was 40 years ago that the Prado badge first appeared on the light-duty Land Cruiser, but the badge never made it to the North American market. For 2025, the U.S. Land Cruiser is the world market Prado, the first time the Prado platform has had a Toyota badge on this continent — as it’s had the Lexus GX badge here.
Arctic Trucks has taken the LC 250/Prado and has been able to fit it with massive 37-inch tires without a massive suspension lift, with OEM levels of fit and finish quality. This new build is called the AT37.
Arctic Trucks
Arctic Trucks International is well known the world over for creating massive balloon-tire versions of trucks and SUVs, which have traversed the most remote and harsh terrains on the planet. It is especially well-known for tackling the polar regions. The company has built over 20,000 vehicles to date, which it says are “cool and capable over all terrains.”
Many of the most well-known Arctic Trucks are Toyota-based. What you might not know is that the company originated as a special vehicles division within Toyota Iceland in 1990.
The Toyota Land Cruiser 250 AT37 build was developed between Arctic Trucks International in Iceland and its U.K. divisions, together with Toyota Africa distributor CFAO. This group leveraged the U.K.’s Motorsport Valley, which is the global center for motorsport — think F1 and WRC team headquarters.
Land Cruiser 250 AT37
Using its OEM-build quality and expedition travel experience, along with the Motorsport Valley tech, Arctic Trucks was able to build an SUV that combines quality on-road manners, big clearance, rough terrain comfort, and what the company calls “tracked vehicle capability” in soft terrain — snow, sand, and mud.
There is no denying that this big-tired Land Cruiser has loads of attitude.
Big Tires, Low Suspension
Big 37-inch BFGoodrich A/T T/A KO3 or M/T T/A KM3 tires are fitted under the AT37. That big rubber is wrapped around custom-forged alloy wheels. The wheels offer a dual-valve design, which Arctic Truck says offers “greater flexibility to monitor and modulate tire pressures.”
In order to fit the big tires, a custom suspension system was developed by R53 Suspension — a Dakar-winning specialist. Amazingly, this suspension only adds about 1.5 inches (40mm) of lift. This two-way adjustable suspension included larger-diameter monotube shocks, custom springs, and hydraulic bumps.
More Than Meets the Eye
The frame, body, and drivetrain have also been modified to accommodate these big tires while keeping a low center of gravity. The setup provides more clearance, a wider track width, and an extended wheelbase. This combination provides ultimate stability and comfort across just about any terrain.
The widebody fender flares also incorporate a tire pressure guide/central tire inflation system connection recess at all four corners of the vehicle. Besides the flares, custom mudguards help keep the stone chips in the paint at bay. The flares and flaps are integrated with custom side steps to make getting in and out of the vehicle easy.
Arctic Trucks styling is found throughout the build. The AT37 has black and lava badging all around and inside. It also has a unique gear selector, dash trims, sill plates, and floor mats.

Arctic Trucks Land Cruiser 250 AT37: Availability & Pricing
The AT37 upgrades are available across all versions of the LC 250. While no price has been officially announced, we estimate the upgrades to cost about $25K. It’s not cheap, but nothing about this build is low quality or poorly thought out. While not for everyone, this is an impressive upfit option for the new Land Cruiser that will turn a lot of heads and should offer an impressive ride on a wide range of terrain.
The Arctic Trucks Land Cruiser 250 AT37 will be available in the spring, direct from Arctic Trucks North America.
