Experience

Prior to becoming a Contributor for AllGear/GearJunkie, Ingraham was a digital strategist and outdoor news multi-media journalist at the Denver Gazette, focusing on content creation in the Colorado outdoors space.

Ingraham’s experience as a gear nerd started in the late ‘80s with a visit to the REI store in Spokane, Wash. He grew up in metro Denver, spending most of his childhood skiing at Loveland and Winter Park in the winter and spring, and camping and hiking in northern Colorado during the summer and fall.

While in college at Colorado State University, he dove deeper into backcountry skiing, backpacking and hiking in northern Colorado while also beginning to study photojournalism as he adventured outside. He later transferred to and graduated from Metro State University Denver, taking a role at Mountain Magazine in Boulder working as the Photo Editor. While there, he began his quest to be an outdoor multi-media journalist, working with Marc Peruzzi and Dave Cox on the publication’s Winter Buyer’s Guide and other content for the publication.

Ingraham continued to grow his outdoors-journalist chops at publications in Twin Falls, Idaho and back in his native city Denver at the Denver Gazette.

He currently skis both Loveland and Copper Mountain regularly, has recently fell in love with the Gore Range with plans to explore them more, plus is teaching his son everything he knows about life in the outdoors.

A Word From Jonathan Ingraham

I fell in love with photojournalism when I was in fourth grade, and the outdoors when I was in fifth. As an outdoor news and gear journalist, I’m constantly looking to capture moments that tell people’s stories as they enjoy the outside experience. Highlighting the gear they use is an extension of those stories.

It’s important to me to find fellow outdoorsmen and outdoorswomen who want to share their stories, including ideas of how to make the gear they use while outside work better, perform more efficiently or simply last longer.

Let’s talk about your product and tell your story.
