Known for high-end carbon bike wheels and forks, the Utah manufacturer ENVE today announced the Mountain Fork meant for those who want no squish whatsoever.
A rigid, full-carbon mountain bike fork is a light alternative to a suspension fork. While it doesn’t soak up the big bumps, it allows cross-country riders to save a lot of weight and improve efficiency while maintaining some comfort thanks to the compliant carbon.
The Mountain Fork has one-piece construction from top of the steerer tube down to the new “boost”-compatible dropouts. The fork has updated geometry, and dropout flip-chips allow the rake to adjust between 44 and 55 mm. It also has suspension correction for 120mm forks, a removable carbon fender, and accessory mounts.
The new Mountain Fork weighs 719 g with its removable fender attached; it’s 676 g with clasps. Its max rotor size is 180 mm, and it can clear tires up to 3 inches wide.
“Forks have been an integral part of the ENVE business model since Day One. At the time, most fork-makers were pulling back or ceasing production on aftermarket carbon forks, we were just getting started.
“We embraced fork manufacturing because we saw that the creative lifeblood of the bike industry, the small custom frame-builder, was lacking a high-end premium fork option to complement their frames,” said Jake Pantone, VP of product and brand.
ENVE covers the Mountain Fork with a 5-year limited factory warranty and Lifetime Incident Protection. The ENVE Mountain Fork retails for $625 and is available now at ENVE.com and through ENVE retail partners worldwide.
