A bikepacking team explores the effects of mining on the sacred headwaters of northwestern British Columbia. Typical of the area, the video features glacier-fed rivers, mountain biking, and bears.

“Chasing Wild” by Wild Confluence Media features Tyler Wilkinson-Ray, Colin Arisman, and Luke Kantola. The trailer offers a sneak peek at the full 12-minute short film, which will be available in fall 2018.

The team examines the devastation from the Mount Polley Mine as well as at-risk lands as new mines develop in the area. And, of course, the film is packed with adventure.

To explore the area, the group mountain bikes and packrafts a section of remote trail. The views are stunning — and hard to imagine with all that gear on their backs!
