In today’s Losing Faith In Humanity file… in case you did not see the fuss on Reddit or coverage elsewhere, we thought this news piece so absurd we had to post.

In short, a drunken fool named Gary Drake in Rosemount, Minn., pulled a shotgun on a father and his small daughter while she was learning to ride a bike.

Court filing against Gary Drake; girl on bike (for illustration purposes only)

Notes an article in the Minneapolis Star Tribune, “While a father was teaching his daughter how to ride a bike on the street outside of Drake’s home, Drake began making comments about the father’s tactics. The father told him, ‘I’ve got it.’ But Drake said, ‘If you don’t like my advice, get off my street.’”

Annoyed, the father was quoted as saying Drake didn’t own the street. The Star Tribune article continues, “Drake appeared to get angrier, and then went inside his home.”

Sensing a threat, the father and daughter headed away from Drake’s house. But he came back with a shotgun and “threatened to kill the father.”

Fortunately, no one was hurt. Police soon arrived, and now Drake is facing second-degree assault and terroristic threat charges.
