Mini tool kits made for biking are great in a pinch. But there’s nothing like full-size tools when you have to make a repair. With its new Tool Shed product, Timbuk2 offers a large pouch made for tools featuring slotted pockets and built with a grease-proof fabric

Timbuk2 Tool Shed

The $35 pouch, available online at REI and other stores, is a simple design with pockets arranged in a row across its internal width. There’s enough space for some allen keys, an adjustable wrench, chain breaker, and a few more small items. Elastic and nylon binding help the tools stay in place. A small zippered mesh pocket holds small items like chainring bolts or a hyperglide pin.

The Tool Shed is heavy duty and weighs more than a pound when empty. Not light, but practically overbuilt. It folds tightly closed and can be slipped into a messenger bag with few worries. Then when you need a tool for repair on the road, the Tool Shed is there, stocked and ready to help.
