In ‘Everesting’, MTB athlete Zanny Venner looks to push her mental limits by gaining 29,000 vertical feet in 24 hours of pedaling.
Cyclist Zanny Venner wanted to do something that’s typically reserved for road cyclists — to climb the elevational equivalent of Mt. Everest (29,028 feet). ‘Everesting’ is the term coined in the cycling community for just such a challenge. And Venner wanted to do it the hard way, not the traditional “roadie” way — on a mountain bike.
In “Everesting,” the endurance athlete documents her attempt by pedaling her Kona Process 134 mountain bike up and down some of the best single- and double-track black diamond trails in Squamish.
It touches on the tough stuff, the fun stuff, and the science of what happens when you ride.
Can she gain more than 29,000 feet of elevation in the 24-hour timeframe?
