Ever wanted to paddleboard off the beaten path? Take inspiration from these four explorers who traveled 230 miles by SUP.

The Mountain River is a Class III tributary of the Mackenzie River in Canada’s northwest territories, bordering the Yukon. Or, as one paddler puts it, “the Holy Grail of whitewater wilderness trips.” It winds 230 miles across flatwater lakes and rushing, whitewater corridors.

A team of dads and Canadian paddlers — Jon Burak, Dennis Flett, Todd Lawson, and Jimmy Martinello — took on the SUP trip of a lifetime. This quick short is merely just a teaser of all the epic waters and remoteness of the Mountain River.

The team paddled through six canyons and climbed six summits in the Mackenzie Mountain system along the way. For 12 days, they portaged, hiked, swam, camped, climbed, and, of course, paddled. Read more about the epic trip here.
