[leadin]A life size Lego camp trailer was revealed at last fall’s Motorhome & Caravan Show at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, UK, setting a new Guinness World Record for the largest travel trailer ever built out of the interlocking plastic bricks.[/leadin]
And it appears no brick was spared in the model. Wired with electrical lighting, plumbed with running water, and accessorized with a stocked fridge, the Lego model matches the classic T@B 320 RS teardrop down to the color palette.
The model trailer is constructed from 215,158 Legos, smashing the previous record by 20,000 bricks. The model trailer took a 12-person team over 12 weeks and 1,000 hours to complete.
The dining area can be converted to a bed, for what we expect to be a restless night’s sleep. Better bring your own pad.
The kitchenette includes a stove, range, coffee pot, and a refrigerator stocked with bricked provisions.
Lego flowers and a chess set adorn the dining area.
And yes, the caravan includes running water.
The model was built around an aluminum chassis and measures 11.8 x 7.2 feet.
The model was created by UK’s Bright Bricks, a LEGO Certified professional model company, who construct everything from 40-foot Christmas trees to massive models of jets and ships.
It is now on tour as a marketing tool for the UK’s national “Freedom to Go” campaign.
