[leadin]Hit the road to explore the frozen state of Minnesota and you can win copious gear. Since 2013, the State Of Minnesota has played host to one of the largest outdoor scavenger hunts in the world.[/leadin]
Called “Checkpoint MN,” the 10-week event includes prizes from sponsors like The-House.com, Wigwam Socks, Framed Bikes, Big Agnes, Mountain Khakis, The North Face, Clif Bar, Toro, Granite Gear, Ibex, Genesis Archery, ALTAI boots, Arctic Cat, Banjo Brothers, Outdoor Research, Wolverine, and more.
In total, the event will award more than $40,000 in outdoors gear and other prizes. See the whole spread here.
There are 10 checkpoints scattered at iconic outdoors destinations around the state.
To “play” the game, you chart a course on Minnesota’s highways and back roads. Locate a Checkpoint, grab a photo, and motor on to continue the quest to see the state and earn gear.
Or, take your time. We encourage everyone who hits the Checkpoint road to slow down, see the sights, and do winter activities at each of the Checkpoints.
The 10 Checkpoints represent some of the most unique spots around Minnesota, including a fat-biking area, a classic covered bridge, Voyageurs National Park, and a giant hockey stick in the state’s Iron Range region. See all the locations here.
