“The Greatest Untold Story Of American Counterculture”… that tag line sounds like marketing B.S. But in the case of “Valley Uprising” it’s pretty close to the truth.

“Valley Uprising” premiered last year as a traveling series on the Reel Rock Tour. It’s now available for download on Vimeo for $24.99 (click the “purchase” button on the video below).

The film, released last year, tells the story of the past five decades of rock climbing in Yosemite Valley, Calif., where a true counterculture has thrived. Climbers have come to live on the fringe of society and scale the massive cliffs of the Valley.

With a cast of characters from Yvon Chouinard to Alex Honnold, the movie profiles multiple generations of climbers pushing limits and living in the world epicenter of rock climbing.
