I’ve slept in the Backcountry Lodgepole roughly 10 times this summer and fall and have been impressed. The Lodgepole isn’t flashy, but it’s exactly what many people need in a tent: shelter from the elements at an incredibly low price point.

The Lodgepole tent does what a tent should: It sets up very easily, packs down small, and is amazingly affordable. I’ve thrown it in my backpack for short hikes to backcountry campsites.
At 4 pounds 12.5 ounces, it’s not super light. But it’s serviceable as a backpacking tent and wonderful for car camping.
I can fit my 6-foot frame inside comfortably with room for two. There are several side pockets for storing phones, keys, and headlamps. And a nifty roof pocket can string lights and illuminate the whole tent.
In high-alpine zones of Colorado, I wasn’t blown away, but thoroughly satisfied. And the best part is the price. It’s a consistent and reliable tent for a low cost.
While camping gear can get seriously spendy for flashy colors and often pointless add-ons, the Lodgepole is an example of pure utility.
