One runner sticks to his goal to run the Hardrock 100 course — race or no race. The effort? Running point-to-point over mountains as fast as possible.

Jim Walmsley has spent the last 5 years training in the mountains in and around Silverton, Colorado. “After the global pandemic forced us all to reset our expectations for 2020, Jim was curious about giving the Hardrock 100 course a true effort,” teases the film description.

With races canceled, how do athletes keep up with their goals? For some, that means running the course anyway. Of course, the spirit of ultras is based on pushing yourself through unforeseen challenges.

With only a few friends and family members to support him, Walmsley attempts to run the course (and back to Silverton) as fast as possible. “Wild and Tough” documents Walmsley’s epic attempt.

This film was directed by Ryan Sterner and Stephen Kersh of Rabbitwolf Creative and presented by HOKA ONE ONE.
