Wyman Meinzer was a renowned trapper across Texas, an ace with a rifle. Now he uses his dead-eye aim and outdoors skills to capture wildlife with a camera as the official photographer for the Lone Star State.
“I appreciate now going out and photographing an animal instead of shooting,” Meinzer says in the latest release from “YETI Presents.”
The life of a trapper can one of solitude, hardship, and rugged adventure. According to his peers, no one exemplified the “badass” lifestyle, or lived Texas-large quite like Meinzer, now 65.
But in his 20’s he began shooting film, and he has since risen to the ranks of Texas State Photographer (the only one to hold the position in the Lone Star state).
