Waterfalls, wolves, and stick houses — these are just some of the adventures on tap for participants in this year’s Checkpoint MN statewide scavenger hunt.

And good news — it’s not over! Thousands of dollars in grand prizes remain to be claimed, so fire up the truck. It’s time for a road trip.

The second annual event has already drawn more than 3,000 participants to the checkpoints scattered across the state. From the northern tip of the state’s Arrowhead to a unique art installation made up of stick houses near St. Cloud, Minn., people are getting out there to enjoy unique attractions.

So far, 49 people have completed all 12 checkpoints since the hunt started in December .

Explore Minnesota and Monopoint Media partnered on the statewide event. GearJunkie.com is the prizing sponsor and in all is giving away more than $60,000 in gear and prizes.

Major swag includes a “Minnesota 2.0” Fat Bike, ski and snowboard packages from The-House.com, a snowmobile from Ski-Doo, TurboDown jackets from Columbia and socks by the hundreds from Wigwam.

Many items have been claimed. But there is still a stock left, including the snowmobile, fat bike, and a ski package. The promotion runs through March 5th, 2015 and getting just one checkpoint enters you for a chance to win one of the weekly prizes.

Anyone can participate in Checkpoint MN. But you need to be in Minnesota, and you have to be willing to adventure a little. See the full checkpoint location list here, and then head out on your search.
