Most of us are probably aware there’s a difference between Lindsey Vonn and mere mortals. You can’t saturate the record books with your name unless you have superlative chops, and in every discipline of alpine skiing, Vonn has them.

But what you might lack in your understanding of Vonn’s eye-popping skill is visual comprehension.

Watch as Vonn hurtles down the Streif. Here, surface conditions on the fast, steep run are marginal at best. Oh yeah, it’s also nighttime and patches of it are dark.
