Don’t drive through moving water. You’ve heard it over and over, and this video illustrates the wisdom of that advice.

Motorcyclist Michael Henao decided to cross a flooded roadway during massive Colorado flooding in September 2013. He loses control of his bike, gets swept downstream and under a strainer of tree limbs. It’s all captured on his GoPro camera for posterity.

Things go wrong starting at about 1:00.

It took two weeks for Michael to recover his bike and begin rebuilding. From the looks of it, he was lucky to get away with his life.
