Rocky Mountain Bicycles confirms thieves made off with 160 brand new bikes, all destined for dealer floors.
The Vancouver Police Department and Rocky Mountain Bicycles (RMB) are requesting the public’s help in tracking down a shipping container’s worth of stolen bicycles.
According to RMB, thieves broke into a container on the grounds of the company’s British Columbia warehouse on Sept. 24. The culprits made off with all of the bikes, 160 in total, all 2019 models. RMB noted the stolen bikes were “mainly full suspension.”
The Search Is On
In a statement, RMB released a full list of the stolen bikes with serial numbers. The list includes the brand’s high-end trail, XC, Enduro, and youth mountain bikes. While RMB didn’t list a dollar amount for the stolen bikes, the bikes listed retail between $1,800 and $8,000.
The Vancouver-based bike manufacturer asked dealers to review the list and be on alert for any 2019 RMB bikes with matching or removed serial numbers.
RMB asked anyone with information to contact the brand at info@bikes.com.
