Owners of the $8 Ozark Trail camp axe should stop using the tool immediately.
Nearly a quarter-million axes sold at Walmart between January 2017 and July 2018 may pose an injury hazard to users.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission this week issued a recall warning for the Ozark Trail camp axe. The CPSC found that the axehead on the 14-inch-long steel implement can detach from the handle.
Walmart reported it received notices of two injuries involving “minor cuts and abrasions” related to the defect. The axe measures 14 inches in length, weighs 1.25 pounds, and has a black rubber handle and claw feature.
