Try out yet-to-be-released gear — yours to keep. All you need is 10 minutes to give your 2 cents.

Testing gear is cool; we should know. Being the first to try the latest in outdoor tech is undeniably fun. And having a say in a product’s worthiness for rugged adventure is a thrill.

And if you act fast, you can be a part of the action. That’s because Norwegian gear and apparel manufacturer Norrona needs 350 testers — “normal, outdoorsy men and women” — to try out its very latest base layer. This is for real. We don’t even have access to these yet.

There are no special requirements and no purchase necessary. Norrona will select 350 people and hook them up with gear. All you need to do in return is use it, abuse it, and tell the brand how it worked.

The only requirement to enter is to sign up for Norrona’s loyalty program. The selling point, in addition to becoming a gear tester, is that signing up makes you eligible for extended warranties, access to the online outlet store, and other goodies. If that works for you, keep reading.

Norrona Equaliser base layer 2019

Now’s the big moment. Select whether you want to test the men’s or women’s Equaliser Merino Round Neck base layer. Now all that’s left is to answer a couple basic questions: How many hours per week you’ll test the product, your top size, and your preferred activities.

That’s it! If you’re selected, Norrona will notify you by Oct. 10 and send out your new base layer to test. After that, your job starts. Norrona said testers will receive a 10- to 15-minute survey to complete by Dec. 31, 2018.

That’s all there is to it. Like most great things in life, you have to be 18 or older to enter. If you love the outdoors and think you’d make an awesome gear tester, this is a great chance to start. Visit to check it out.
