New York lost a bid for the Summer Olympics in 2012. In a neat feature this week, “Is That a Luge in Times Square?”, the New York Times asks “what if the city had tried to get the Winter Olympics instead?”
In addition to the downhill ski race course represented above (imposed over Central Park), the Times feature includes bobsled, luge, ski jump, and speed skating venues digitally integrated into the city grid. —Stephen Regenold
