Nothing can kill a budding romance faster than being dropped by your date on a couple’s ride, or finding out he doesn’t own skis, a bike pump, hiking boots.
Fear not, activity-mongers – your gateway to love has arrived, and it’s in Colorado!
LuvByrd.com is open to everyone and free to join, but the dating site – which requires users to disclose their craziest outdoor adventure, favorite outdoor activity, and a bucket list – is focused on making matches in and around its Denver home.
According to Mike Keshian, CEO of LuvByrd, the plan is to cultivate a strong following within the Rocky Mountain State and expand the business westward before canvassing the country.
While a site catered to climbers, bikers, skiers, and kite surfers would be welcome worldwide, with growth could come cost. Keshian told The Gazette in Colorado Springs that once the 10,000 user mark is eclipsed, a fee-based model would be warranted.
“If people are willing to pay $9.99 a month for Netflix, surely they’ll be willing to pay $9.99 at the chance to find love,” he said.
LuvByrd functions similarly to other dating sites, with potential matches selected by LuvByrd displayed based on similar interests and age.
Want a live love connection? The site hosted chairlift speed-dating at Loveland ski area this winter, pairing potential mates for a ride up the mountain and the option to ride down together (swipe right), or solo (swipe left).
While the site hosts extreme outdoors men and women who ice climb, fat-bike, and hang glide, it also recognizes (and supports) “patio lounging,” as well as “sledding around like a kid” and “building a snowman” as relationship-starting material.
Check out LuvByrd – especially if you’re in Colorado – to start finding outdoors love.
