Double-Duty Hunting Clothes: From City to Backcountry

Most folks who venture into the backcountry to hunt will also venture into a coffee shop. These clothes for both men and women are functional across the board.

When considering my ideal duds, I think about comfort and style exploring the streets of my favorite cities — and concealment from critters. Recently, I took my hunt to the internet and tracked down some of my favorite double-duty hunting clothes for men and women.

Behold, streetwear that is also woods-wear.

Stio Sweetwater Fleece Hoodie — Women’s: $159

This vest boasts wind and water repellency as well as lightweight goose down insulation. And it will for sure keep you comfortable in the harshest elements.

KUHL WEEKENDR Tight — Women’s: $89

Upon first glance, you might think I’m joking. But these tights by KUHL are a far cry from the shapeless, masculine hunting pants women are used to for the backcountry.

To be fair, they won’t hold up in a place like Alaska. But for most people in most places, these pants will far exceed your needs. The WEEKENDR tight is made of a lightweight, abrasion-resistant fabric that stretches with you as you move, making them a perfect fit for high-activity adventures.

Columbia Ascender Softshell Jacket — Men’s: $70

This softshell jacket is affordable and functional, protecting against wind and water. Made of a durable synthetic fabric, pesky thorns and shrubs won’t stand a chance against this abrasion-resistant jacket. A clean aesthetic translates seamlessly from the trailhead to the grocery store.

Voormi Phase SC Long Sleeve Merino Tech Tee, RMEF Edition — Men’s: $90

The Voormi Merino Tech Tee may be a stretch for city life. But, its proprietary camouflage pattern is worth noting. It’s the least camouflage-y camo I’ve seen, and I’m into it.
