The return of the Simms Fall Run Jacket and Vest put warmth in a profile that wears well with waders or around town.

Simms Fall Run layers use high-performance insulation for a mix of breathable warmth in a package that won’t require adjusting the fit of your bibs.

The jacket and vest show off design touches specifically for diehard and weekend adventure anglers alike. Simms is intricately aware of the needs of its consumers, and the Fall Run offering aims to please.

Simms Fall Run Insulated Hoody and Vest

The Simms Fall Run Jacket returns, due to popular demand. Now there’s a hooded jacket and a vest to choose from.

The Fall Run Insulated Hoody is a three-season jacket that can keep you warm behind waders in the cold weather, yet light enough to wear during shoulder season or crisp morning fishing trips. In warmer parts of the country, it can work in the winter and not in the summer. In that case, the vest may be more your thing.

The jacket has internal quilting on the upper front and back body that provides a smooth exterior for abrasion resistance when worn with waders or bibs — a design differentiator from its predecessor.

Away from the water, the streamlined puffy will keep you warm about town or doing work around the yard.

Primaloft Insulation & Other Ingredients

Synthetic insulation allows the Fall Run jacket to pack down and provide a warmth-to-weight ratio without bulking up under bibs or waders. Part of that functionality comes from PrimaLoft Black Eco insulation, with 60 g in the body and 40 g in the sleeves of the Fall Run jacket. The insulation is treated for water repellency; should it get wet, the synthetic insulation maintains its warming performance.

The ripstop shell is also treated with a DWR finish and features internal quilting on the upper front and back body to provide a smooth exterior for abrasion resistance when worn under waders or bibs.

To keep hands warm, and to store some small angling essentials, the jacket has zippered handwarmer pockets and an internal zippered chest pocket.

The shell and lining use recycled polyester, and the PrimaLoft Black Eco insulation uses 60% recycled materials.

An insulated jacket from Simms means it has consideration for fishing in the design.

The quilted insulation is in the body of the jacket, which should fit closer to the body. This lets you keep the fit of bibs and waders closer to the body.

The sleeves get a little less insulation and fit more loosely. Keeping the jacket from restricting your casting motion should make fishing feel more natural and prevent the hem from riding up.
