Have a Chill Summer With These Moosejaw Coolers

Moosejaw Chilladilla and Ice Fort Coolers are made for a variety of uses and needs. Large hard-sided coolers are good all weekend while a soft-sided backpack or tote may better suit a day trip to the beach or fishing hole.

Moosejaw has put its spin on traditional coolers — hard-sided, soft-sided, and rolling alike. Whether chilling at a BBQ or taking a few drinks to your hike-in campsite, temperature retention, durability, and user-friendliness are the name of the game.

Like most modern hard-sided coolers, the brand’s are rotomolded to keep food and drinks cold all day. Likewise, the basic designs of Moosejaw’s soft coolers, carried as backpacks or totes, are in line with others on the market.

However, a cooler’s added features can make or break its design in both durability and user-friendliness.

Check out Moosejaw’s coolers, designed to be leakproof (with latch openings or waterproof zippers) and durable, with fabrics built with recycled materials.

Moosejaw Coolers

Moosejaw’s hard-sided coolers use corrosion-resistant metal parts, designed to withstand rain and even sea air. Again, these are rotomolded, which means a one-piece construction that promotes durability.

All the coolers in the brand’s lineup are treated with Microban antimicrobial protection, which aims to prevent bacterial odors and stains.

Additionally, portions of these coolers are sourced from recycled materials. According to Moosejaw, 30% of its hard cooler shells are made with recycled plastics, while 40% of its soft-sided cooler exteriors are made of nylon reclaimed from fishing nets.

The brand stands by its products with limited warranties, which are good for three or five years depending on the model.

25-Quart Ice Fort Hard Cooler

This 25-quart cooler can fit up to 36 12-ounce cans or 25 pounds of ice. When loaded with a 50-50 ratio of ice and cans, the Ice Fort 25’s insulation claims to retain ice for up to three days. It’s tall enough to hold a wine bottle upright inside and has cam latches to open and close, as well as freezer-grade gaskets built to seal in the cold.

The shoulder strap doubles as a handle when tightened, and there are tie-down spots to keep it secure during transport.

50-Quart Ice Fort Hard Cooler

This cooler’s 50-quart capacity has enough space for 72 12-ounce cans or 50 pounds of ice. With 3.5 inches of insulation, this Ice Fort should retain ice for up to five days with an even mix of ice and cans. Cam latches flip open for easy access, while gasket seals keep the cold in and the heat out, according to the brand.

Inside, there’s an ice storage bin that can hold up to 7 pounds of ice. Alternatively, it can be used to separate some of the cooler’s contents from the ice, keeping food dry yet cold.

To help with carrying, Moosejaw equipped this cooler with grippy rope handles as well as molded grips on the sides. You can use its tie-downs to prevent sliding around during transport, and cleaning is made quick and easy by a drain port.

55-Quart Ice Fort Rolling Hard Cooler

Roll up to your camp or beach spot with a big cooler on 9-inch no-flat tires. (According to Moosejaw, the tires are plastic, but have “a little bit of give to it to keep the wheels from cracking.”)

Stainless steel bearings, a patterned tread, and a padded aluminum handle should help keep this cooler moving over different terrains.

This backpack cooler is large enough to fit 24 cans or keep an even mix of cans and ice for up to 48 hours. The pack is padded and has a ventilated panel, according to the brand. Shoulder and sternum straps should help adjust the fit and stabilize the weight.

Hard and soft, this cooler has a lid and collar meant to retain the shape of a tote. It can hold up to 36 12-ounce cans. With an even mix of ice and cans, it claims to keep drinks cool and hold ice for two days.

Moosejaw made this tote to be waterproof, leakproof, and submersible thanks to its nylon shell fabric and latches that seal this cooler shut. The odor-resistant liner is also removable for easier cleaning.

The exterior front pocket has a YKK AquaGuard zipper to keep out water and keep things like a smartphone dry. There are also two stretchy mesh pockets for stashing small camping or picnic gear. Its shoulder strap can be cinched down to function as a close-fit handle.
