Meet the vehicle that turns the ‘worst-case-scenario’ into just another obstacle.
Don’t get me wrong, being stranded in the jungle would be a bummer. But if you were driving around in this, it would definitely be less of a bummer, and you probably wouldn’t get stranded at all.
Meet the Patriot Campers LC79 Supertourer, an aluminum-body monster designed to get, well, anywhere.
The LC79 is an overland camper setup built onto a GXL Toyota Landcruiser dual cab with 300mm chassis extenstion. The $91,000 beast comes standard with a host of features to go over, through, and under most terrain.
It starts off with an upgraded 3,800kg EFS suspension upgrade. The Elite 60mm tube suspension adds 3 inches of lift. Couple that with ROH Wheels and burly Mickey Thompson Tires, and getting stuck means you probably made a really bad decision.
River in your path? It comes standard with an engine snorkel for crossing deep streams. There’s also a 70L water tank with an electric pump, and front and rear 1,200-lb. winches for when the going gets ridiculous.
You need to be self-sufficient far from civilization. Four toolboxes and a storage tray will give you organization and storage for spare parts and tools, right from the factory.
If you like options, there are plenty of those as well. Think mini-fridge storage, dog crate, and pop-up tent accessibility. You know, everything you’d need if your overland trek turned into an extended, self-supported, survival expedition.
There’s really only one drawback: It’s only sold in Australia. Sadly, the ocean is about the only thing it can’t cross.
