Mention Cody Townsend’s name in any ski bar, and it won’t be long before his infamous FIFTY Project comes up in conversation. The ambitious YouTube series followed Townsend as he tried to ski every one of the “50 Classic Ski Descents of North America.” He got to 46/50 before ending his quest somewhat unexpectedly and promised enigmatically that something else was in the works.

GearJunkie interviewed Townsend about why he made his decision last season.

That “something else” just dropped. The first episode of the FIFTY+ hit Townsend’s YouTube page this morning, and it’s game on all over again.

Except in this new series, Townsend won’t be pursuing the ski lines from the book. He’ll be ticking off a list of modern classics that he has put together himself. And he promises that the number of objectives is much higher than 50.

Watch Townsend ski the Northstar Couloir, Alaska, in this first episode of the new series and get hyped for more backcountry, alpine action.
