A New York film creator went to some unlikely places for his latest winter film: cold-climate islands. Travel along from Canada to Scandinavia to the Arctic Circle via this winter-themed film.
Geared up with a rain jacket and a wetsuit, this filmmaker takes island exploring to whole new levels. “Winter Islands” explores three locations: the Faroe Islands in Denmark, Dover in Nova Scotia, and Lofoten Island in Norway.
Some islands are coastal fishing communities while others are north enough in the Arctic Circle to see the northern lights.
The film mainly captures the dark, cold climates of the islands, but also some winter hiking and surfing. It’s slow, chilling, and looks oh so cold.
