Transparent from the inside, mirrored from the outside, cabins now up for rent in Tennessee will give glamping fans an obstruction-free way to experience the outdoors.

Luxury cabins have a long history, especially in Europe, but these “invisible” rental cabins in Tennessee offer a new take on an old favorite.

The five new cabins from Bolt Farm Treehouse have a mirror-like exterior that looks like normal windows from the inside. From the outside, they have a surreal quality, perfectly reflecting their surroundings until your eye reaches the building’s barely visible edge.

So, they’re kind of like Predator’s camouflage, only with a hot tub on the inside instead of an alien assassin.

Located outside Chattanooga, Tenn., the “mirror cabins” don’t just offer a sweet exterior to make your Insta followers jealous. The glamping interiors will make them jealous as well, as the Bolt Farm website makes explicitly clear.

“Floor-to-ceiling walls of mirrored glass allow you to be one with nature, while maintaining your privacy (you can’t see inside during daylight and there are blackout curtains for the evening),” the website says. “Enjoy our award-winning treehouse experience in this impressive, Instagrammable, well-appointed luxury mirror hotel room nestled in nature.”

Surrounded by Nature

Bolt Farm Treehouse started in 2015, when Seth Bolt and his father Larry Bolt built the Majestic Treehouse in Walhalla, S.C. They built the property for Seth’s wedding and then began renting it out afterward.

Then, Seth and his wife bought 54 acres in Tennessee to design luxury outdoor rentals. Their treehouse stays and dome buildings ultimately landed them on Netflix’s “The World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals.”

For their latest edition of “mirror cabins,” they tapped a company based out of Estonia. ÖÖD designed and built the cabins after first building one in Tallinn, Estonia.

The cabins offer luxurious interiors filled with amenities, including a hot tub, internet, robes, and high-end furnishings. Renters also have access to hiking, waterfalls, horseback riding, and many other activities on the nearby Tennessee River. The Bolt Farm Treehouse property also backs up to 5,000 acres of nature preserve.

Sound interesting? You can start booking these innovative cabins for about $400 per night.
