Just returned from an epic adventure trip through the Yucatan, including cave diving, kayaking, mangrove-swamp exploration, fly fishing, ruins snooping, boogie boarding, and much hammock time on the beach.

Stayed in the cool little colonial town of Valladolid for the first part of the trip; the Centro Ecologico Sian Ka’an (CESiaK) was my base for the second half.

CESiaK is an amazing eco resort within Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, a huge and little-explored national park/UNESCO World Heritage Site south of Tulum.

Watch for my full story on the Sian Ka’an trip soon.

Here are a few pics from the trip. . .

Cenote Dzitnup outside the town of Valladolid is essentially an underground lake. Thousands of cenotes, which are like sinkholes, dot the entire Yucatan Peninsula.

Chichen Itza. One of Mexico’s most famous ruin sites. I’ve climbed this pyramid in the past; the officials unfortunately do not allow it anymore.
