There are 10 checkpoints scattered at iconic outdoors destinations around the state.

To “play” the game, you chart a course on Minnesota’s highways and back roads. Locate a Checkpoint, grab a photo, and motor on to continue the quest to see the state and earn gear.

Or, take your time. We encourage everyone who hits the Checkpoint road to slow down, see the sights, and do winter activities at each of the Checkpoints.

10 Checkpoints around the state

The 10 Checkpoints represent some of the most unique spots around Minnesota, including a fat-biking area, a classic covered bridge, Voyageurs National Park, and a giant hockey stick in the state’s Iron Range region. See all the locations here.

The event is a do-it-yourself adventure, and anyone eligible can participate. Full information and rules are here.

Now, gear up and pack the car. It’s time for an adventure. Checkpoint MN continues through January 31, 2016, with prizes and gear waiting to be claimed out there on the wintery Minnesota road.
