Mess with this guy’s dog, you’ll get punched in the face — even if you’re a bear.
Yes, Carl Moore, age 73, of Placer County, Calif., punched a bear in the face last week. A local newspaper reported he gave “a solid right-hand to a bear’s snout.”
Moore says it was to protect his chihuahua Lacy. “The man or beast that I run from ain’t been born, and his momma’s already dead,” Moore told a Sacramento CBS news crew.
The event unfolded when Carl’s dog started whimpering, and he ran outside to investigate. There he found a bear that was clearly looking for trouble. Well, he found it, and it’s name was Carl.
Carl then gave the black bear an old haymaker to the face, snapping it’s head back. And while this entire ordeal has the sounds of one very tall tale, there were witnesses who confirm how it went down.
“Carl just smacks it. I couldn’t believe it,” said John Sargent, his friend and employee who witnessed the attack. ““He’s an ex-first recon Marine. He’s been in barroom brawls, all kinda stuff.”
While it seems to have worked out for Carl this time, we definitely advise against punching bears as it may encourage them to eat your face off.
