REI turns 80 years old (amazingly!) this year. In honor of the anniversary, the co-op has created a sale that offers huge discounts on apparel, bikes, and gear. Go here to see the list of products on discount, from Suunto watches to backpacking tents.
The sale has regular items up to 50 percent off, and you’ll see major discounts of at least 70 percent off gear from the REI Outlet.
I have shopped the aisles of REI as long as I can remember, and much of my camping and climbing equipment as a burgeoning teenage gear junkie came from the co-op. These kinds of sales were crucial for me. I simply couldn’t afford the ropes, packs, shell jackets, and other items needed for adventure without discounts and hand-me-downs.
