Experience

It wasn’t until college that Hilary discovered her love for the outdoors. Lucking into a job at Mast General Store in Asheville, NC the summer after her freshman year introduced her to the vast world of outdoor gear and the adventures it could take you on. Becoming heavily involved with the university’s outdoor program, Hilary began dabbling in every activity she could, including backpacking, whitewater kayaking, rock climbing, triathlons, and more, eventually leading trips for the program. Her technical mindset made her a fast learner in the shop too, quickly becoming an expert at helping clients with their most difficult gear questions.

After finding a home in Colorado to fuel her rock climbing addiction, Hilary continued to work in the outdoor industry after college, most notably as the Domestic Sales Manager at Spyderco knives for over 7 years. In her free time she was always adding to her list of hobbies. After an outrageous day on rented mopeds with her brother in Hawai’i, she came home eager to learn to ride a motorcycle. She bought her first bike in 2016 after accidentally crashing it during her test ride, and was committed ever since. A local women’s riding group called the Scarlet Headers welcomed her into the world of riding and set a precedent with its supportive and inclusive atmosphere.

Having transitioned into a full-time career in renewable energy now, Hilary continues to be dedicated to having fun, seeking adventure, indulging creativity, and taking care of our planet for generations to come.

I will always strive to align my professional career with the things I am most passionate about, allowing me to make a living while making a difference. Among the list of activities I enjoy in my free time, spending time outside is a nearly universal common thread, fueling my desire to help preserve our natural spaces.
My personal interests include riding motorcycles, paddlesports, making and fixing things, caring for plants, renewable energy and electric vehicles, international and domestic travel, camping, alpine runs, birding, and scuba diving, just to name a few. The list is always growing, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
