Bryon Dorr

Bryon Dorr is the Motors Editor of GearJunkie. He has been writing about overland travel, off-road vehicles, general automotive, whitewater kayaks, and outdoor and travel gear for 15+ years. He has created content for a wide range of outdoor, automotive, and travel media outlets, both online and in print, as well as for a diverse range of commercial clients as a photographer, social media marketer, business consultant, and editor.

He lived on the road for nearly eight years in overland vehicles, was based out of Portland, Oregon, for over 7 years, and is now on the road full-time with his wife and young kid in an RV. Yes, it’s hard to keep him still!

Bryon is an avid kayaker, cyclist, skier/snowboarder, runner, and photographer. When not outdoors doing human-powered adventures, you’ll find him behind the wheel or bars of something with a motor and wheels, finding adventure around the globe. A Word From Bryon Dorr

Travel, adventure, photography, and quality gear are all extreme passions of mine. As an automotive and outdoor journalist, I’m able to share those passions and pursue them around the globe.

I chased water and snow around the globe, pursuing whitewater kayaking and skiing/snowboarding for the past two and a half decades, photographing my adventures and the best athletes on the planet in the process. That led me to live on the road for nearly 8 years full-time, where I combined my interest and photo/writing skills into a career reviewing gear and sharing adventures.

My personal interests include whitewater kayaking, surf kayaking, mountain biking, adventure motorcycling, performance driving, overland travel, trail running, skiing, snowboarding, photography, wind sports, and rock climbing.
