Chrome is calling its new line “the biggest launch for the company this year,” and with that proclamation comes a set of waterproof packs unlike anything the brand has ever sold.
The Knurled Welded line includes tough, roll-top packs and duffels. They can connect to racks or be worn backpack-style.
“Bike camping, adventure biking, and all-weather commuting” are the intended uses, the brand notes.
We got the Knurled Welded Waterproof Rolltop pack model in house for a look. The bag is bomber, including thick nylon fabric, metal buckles, and a roll-to-close top that makes it 100% waterproof (even submersible).
The “knurled” part of the name refers to the welding technique on the seams — Chrome claims the radio-frequency-welded nylon, which has a visible interlocking pattern in the fabric, creates “the toughest, lightest waterproof bags” available.
The Knurled Welded line packs are available now, with prices starting at $100. See the full line here.
We’re looking forward to putting the waterproof bags through the wringer on some trips this spring.
