YETI HotShot Cap

YETI doesn’t have new drinkware, but it does have a new leakproof cap. The HotShot Cap, a 360-degree design — just twist the lid and then sip from any side — now comes on YETI’s 18-ounce Rambler bottles. It’s good for keeping hot or cold drinks totally leakproof, whether you are walking, in transit, or traveling by car or plane. The Rambler with HotShot cap retails for $30.

Snow Peak Living Lodge

Are you the type of person who wants to bring your entire family outdoors and camping? Then the Snow Peak Living Lodge is for you. The Lodge ($1,750), which is really a canvas tent-style outdoor home, comes in two sizes and can convert from a summery, open canopy to a full shelter with walls, vents, and floors. It has a durable 300-denier exterior “shell” and UV coating. Learn more. 

XeroShoes Mesa Trail Shoes

XeroShoes minimalist, barefoot-style Mesa Trail Shoes ($120) just got an upgrade. The shoe is lightweight, with a mesh upper for breathability, a 5mm “Xero-drop” rubber sole, and a dual-chevron tread with 3.5mm lugs. Four new colors grace the shoes for this fall. Available in men’s and women’s sizing.

National Geographic x tentree Apparel

Tentree has partnered up with National Geographic to create this apparel collection. The collab apparel includes men’s, women’s, and kid’s styles of tees, hoodies, joggers, and more ($20 and up) and features plant and tree graphics from Nat Geo’s archives, National Geographic, and tentree logos. For each item purchased, tentree will plant 10 trees.

Canyon Grizl CF SLX 8 Bike

Canyon’s recently introduced Grizl bike gets an upgrade with the CF SLX 8 model with eTap suspension and a new gravel suspension fork. Specifically, it’s got the SRAM electronic wireless Force eTap AXS gravel drivetrain, and a RockShox Rudy Ultimate fork. The CF SLX 8 (from $6,499) launched worldwide but is only available for preorder (expect to get your hands on one by 2022). The only thing better than the upgrades? The paint job names: “carbon splatter” and “grape explosion.”

inov-8 Trailfly Ultra G 300 Mont Blanc Edition

Today, inov-8 launches a special edition of the TRAILFLY ULTRA G 300 MAX. The TRAILFLY is the brand’s signature shoe made with Graphene-enhanced foam and rubber. The special edition Mont Blanc Trailfly ($190) is made in honor of the first recorded ascent of Mont Blanc, 235 years ago this month. The black-and-white shoe features the height of Europe’s most famous mountain (4,810 m) on its midsole, and contour lines on its upper.

EverydayCarry Atlas Sling Pack

New York pack-maker Manhattan Portage collaborated with EverydayCarry on its Atlas Sling ($89). The small CORDURA ballistic nylon pack accommodates all of your EDC items in a compact case with straps, zipper and mesh pockets, pen holders, and MOLLE webbing. The pack doubles as a travel organizer pouch, or as a handlebar bag on a bike.

PurTrek Trekking Pole

Introducing the first-ever 2-in-1 trekking pole with a built-in pump water filter. The PurTrek ($190) debuted last week at the Big Gear Show last week and this week at Outdoor Retailer, the major tradeshow for the outdoor gear industry. PurTrek uses a hollow fiber for the water filter, which is fully integrated into the lightweight 7075 aircraft aluminum pole. PurTrek’s telescoping design is coupled with a series of seals, valves, and O-rings. It weighs 19 ounces. Polartec x Hikerkind Fleece and Scrunchie

Polartec partnered with female-founded Hikerkind brand to bring to market a possibly perfect midlayer fleece. In addition to the Midlayer ($183), made with Polartec Power Air and recycled polyester fabric in a delicate sage green, there’s a scrap scrunchie ($17 for two), cleverly made with Polartec’s scrap Power Air fabric. Upcycled, chic, and made in NYC. The Midlayer is available in sizes from XS to 3X.

Champion Muhammad Ali Collection

The Muhammad Ali Gold Collection ($35 and up) is the second capsule in Champion’s Muhammad Ali line. The capsule’s new designs were inspired by Ali’s gold medal win during the 1960 Games. With details from the 1960s uniforms, the apparel features “unique athletic accents, iconic silhouettes, luxe fabrics, and voluminous draping,” which you’ll notice in the special satin boxing robe. If that’s not your thing, there are tees, joggers, and more.

Campo Designs Retractable Canopy Tent

Launched yesterday on Kickstarter is this backyard-friendly tent canopy/sun shade. The Campo Designs Escape M4 Tent (starting at $299) is fully retractable, with six different setup options and an interior of 70 square feet. It’s made with both an aluminum and fiberglass pole setup and a waterproof tent body (with net vent panels) and rainfly. While not the lightest, it does look versatile.

Explore New York’s oldest trail in the recently published “From Northville to Placid: Place Names of New York’s Oldest Long Trail” book ($20, including shipping), by Erik Schlimmer. If you’ve ever spent time in the Adirondacks, or on the Northville Placid Trail itself, this new book is a must-read.
