Combining a shelter and a water-collecting design, the Glider product from Kammok is a rain tarp for hammocks. It has the added benefit of funneling rain to ports that connect to water bottles.
The brand calls it a “Weather Relief Shelter,” noting that it blocks rain and sun. After a successful Kickstarter launch, the product is available for purchase on the Kammok site.
(See more Photos of the Tarp System on Page 2 of this post.)
The 115-square-foot tarp covers a single hammock. It is made of a siliconized CORDURA nylon and it packs up small. Target weight is 25 ounces.
The “water retention system” part is unique. Basically, the tarp has folds that channel water to funnels where you can attach a water bottle. There is a screen over the port to block debris.
Shelter, shade, and hydration, all in one.
