Take a quality luxury SUV, add power, more standard features, and all-electric range, and you likely have a winning combination. The world needs more plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) in my opinion, and Mercedes-Benz is delivering them. The latest is a PHEV version of the GLC 300 4MATIC SUV. Let me introduce you to the 2025 Mercedes GLC 350e 4MATIC SUV.

GearJunkie contributor Michael Van Runkle sums up his review of the Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4Matic, the basis for this latest PHEV, with this:

“With daily driveable EVs still a way off for most SUV buyers, the GLC 300 4Matic adds impressive hybrid efficiency to the dependable luxury and versatility of Mercedes-Benz’s entry-level GLC. Family haulers, grocery getters, and road-trippers alike will find all their needs met, less so the AMG speed freaks and off-roading adventurers that M-B caters to in marketing materials.”

Plug-In Hybrid AWD Luxury SUV

With the GLC 350e 4Matic SUV, you’ll get 54-miles of all-electric range (EPA certified). That’s impressive for the PHEVs currently on offer, and very usable in the real world.

The max speed in all-electric mode is 87 mph with the 2025 GLC 350e.

There is also an “Off-Road” drive mode on the new 350e 4Matic SUV that enables all-electric off-road optimized terrain traversing. Now, don’t mistake this for an off-road vehicle. But, it does have AWD and can near-silently cruise down forest service roads in luxurious comfort.

More Power

The GLC 300 4Matic SUV has 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The 2025 GLC 350e 4Matic SUV ups those numbers to 313 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, a substantial upgrade in all regards.

The electric motor in the system offers up 325 pound-feet of instant torque, which should offer very impressive acceleration. A 24.8 kWh battery pack is paired with a 134-horsepower electric motor in the GLC 350e’s PHEV system.

More Standard, Still Loads of Options

The 2025 GLC 350e 4Matic SUV gets a load of standard equipment. This includes “heated front seats, Mercedes-Benz Navigation, KEYLESS-GO, dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, KEYLESS-START, power liftgate, Frontbass audio system, Blind Spot Assist, Adaptive Highbeam Assist, Rearview camera, PARKTRONIC with Active Parking Assist and much more.”

Just like the GLC 300, you have a plethora of exterior and interior looks you can option your GLC 350e with. You’ll get 11 paint options, 13 interior options, and eight wheel options. All of this is available across three trim packages: Standard, Exclusive, and Pinnacle. As usual, however, you’ll likely find silver, black, and white versions on Mercedes lots, as those are what dealers seem to spec for their stock vehicles.

2025 Mercedes GLC 350e 4Matic SUV: Availability & Pricing

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e 4Matic SUV will arrive in U.S. dealerships in the second half of 2024. No pricing has been announced just yet, but expect a solid premium over the GLC 300 4Matic SUV’s base price of $49,100.

You can find your local dealer and build out your own GLC 350e 4Matic SUV.
