From the picturesque setting on a beautiful lake to the pulsing “I Want It” of Heartbreak Kid’s pop hit, the advertisement for MasterCraft’s shiny new boat is drenched in summer vibes. I’m far from a wakesurfer, but the song-and-surf combo definitely made me jealous of what these happy people are doing: chilling on a lake with a dog.

The Ashley Kidd edition of MasterCraft’s popular XT23 towboat aims clearly at those looking for weekend hijinks and summer getaways. MasterCraft tapped Kidd, a six-time World Champion Wakesurfer and native of Corpus Christi, Texas, as the inspiration for its pimped-out towboat.

The special edition comes with plenty of features to impress your lake friends. Features include a golden metal flake gel coat, black SeaDek flooring, and even a slideout drawer with dog bowls. Woof!

For any wakesurfers out there looking for a new boat, MasterCraft clearly intends for this special-edition XT23 to be the top choice.

Inspired by the “golden hour” of sunset, Kidd helped design the metal flake exterior. The interior comes with a black-and-tan SeaDek for “a touch of elegance.”

Kidd clearly wanted to make sure her dog, a Siberian Husky named Bailey, got a little love, too. To that end, her XT23 is equipped with a custom-designed dog bowl drawer that discreetly tucks away, “not sacrificing convenience or style,” the press release said.

As for surfing, the boat has 3,300 pounds of ballast and a fully optimized hull. MasterCraft’s SurfStar system, the onboard computer, is made for creating custom wakes and waves for athletes just like Kidd, all the way down to first-timers.

“My Ashley Kidd Edition XT23 from MasterCraft is the ultimate blend of my unique style and my demand for top wakesurfing performance,” Kidd said. “I had a blast fully customizing ‘my boat’ to include personal touches that are must-haves — like creature comforts for my dog Bailey.

“I can honestly say, after owning and training behind an XT23, that it’s the best wakesurfing boat I’ve ever ridden. Not only does it have the size I need, it has more energy and push than any other wave out there, which allows me to really challenge myself and land tricks that I couldn’t do behind other boats.”

Ashley Kidd Edition XT23: Pricing & Availability

Buying this super-cool boat comes with several notable extras. That starts with a “Golden Hour” carbon Connelly AK surfboard and a matching rope and dog leash.

But, that’s not all. New owners will also receive a package in the mail shortly after delivery with two pairs of Blender Eyewear sunglasses. The final touch? One pair matches the boat and the other matches Ashley Kidd’s “signature pair of shades.”

If you’re looking for a boat that makes you feel too cool for school, this special edition is trying its hardest to make it happen.

The Ashley Kidd Edition XT23 has an MSRP of just under $240,000. Customers are encouraged to contact their local MasterCraft dealer to discuss options, details, and rebates to “ensure the most accurate transaction price,” the company said.
