Hibear Adventure Flask

Hibear Adventure Flask

Launched this week on Kickstarter, the Hibear Adventure Flask was fully funded in under an hour. The Flask ($85) is a versatile, insulated, stainless steel “utility bottle” designed to craft and hold all beverages — from water to tea, cold brew, and cocktails. It has an interior glass finish, a removable wide-mouth mug at the base, an integrated filter, a cocktail strainer, a carabiner handle, and a powder-coat finish.

Hest Pillow

Sure, for some, a pillow’s just a pillow. But I’ve used a fair share of them and know the choice is more important than you’d think. Hest made its Camp Pillow ($56 now) to pair with its outdoor mattress, but really, it’d work anywhere. In testing, we liked that the soft nylon liner stays protected underneath the durable exterior cover, and the pillow folds to pack up (fairly) small. Looking for more? Check out our review of Hest’s Dually mattress here.

This ultralight, albeit more expensive, yoga mat ($62) is really a lifesaver for those with limited space. The YOGO Ultralight Yoga Mat is made to fit in the smallest of gym bags and totes. The mat is made of natural tree rubber, has attached minimal folding straps, and weighs just over 2 pounds. If you’d like to make yoga more accessible (like on your next impromptu park outing or camping trip) check out the YOGO.

GSI Outdoors Microlite JavaPress

GSI Outdoors Microlite french press

GSI added another new style to its French press lineup — the Microlite JavaPress ($35). The new press is lighter than previous models, making it perfect for backpacking, skiing, travel, and commuting. It’s vacuum-insulated, holds 15 ounces, and has a nonslip foot. Oh, and it doubles as a travel mug. The Microlite weighs 13.2 ounces, which is lighter (but also less volume) than the brand’s 50-ounce French press.

The off-road steed also has FOX suspension technology and an aggressive 8,500 rpm redline. Yamaha hopes it will appeal to customers looking for extreme performance and capability on any trail.

Frontiersman Bear Horn

SABRE Bear horn

Hikers in bear country often bring bells to warn ursine habitants of human presence. The Frontiersman Bear Horn ($15) is “louder than other warning methods,” touts Sabre. It toots out air-powered 115db blasts that can be heard up to half a mile away. Sabre recommends periodic blasts to warn bears, with each handheld horn offering about 50 quick blasts per canister on the trail.
