A sprint down a bike path, a climbing wall traverse, clues on a scavenger hunt through GearJunkie headquarters… those were among the feats required of the 13 teams who participated in the first “Gear Junkie Challenge” urban adventure race last night.

The invite-only event, held out of our office on the Greenway Bike Path in Minneapolis, included an alleycat-style bike race with multiple side challenges.

Racers had two hours to complete the course. Cash, gear prizes, and cold brews were the reward at the end of the effort. Thanks to all who joined in the fun, and thanks to Sea to Summit and Upslope Brewing, who respectively donated gear and beer for the party.

Congrats to “Team Berserker Pants” on the win, with “Geezer Junkies” and “Team White Russia” close behind. (See full results and race times here.) Here are a handful of pics from the action. —Stephen Regenold
