This canoe-meets-cubicle design makes one thing very clear: Pretending to work has never looked so enjoyable.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been working remotely for nearly 4 years, and banging out stories while sitting in a beautiful place is certainly a perk. But if your remote job is so chill you can lazily type emails while drinking a Summer Shandy from a canoe — sounds like your work life is pretty relaxed already.
Leinenkugel’s vehicular publicity stunt officially starts on July 3, when the Canoebicle becomes rentable in Denver, Milwaukee, and Pittsburgh, according to the company’s online announcement. What exactly does it look like? Presumably something close to the rendering above, as that’s the only image available at the moment.
Or perhaps Leinenkugel wants to make a bigger splash by unveiling the actual Canoebicle in 2 weeks? The rental includes a Summer Shandy six-pack with each $16-per-hour booking (a price inspired by the Summer Shandy’s 16 years of existence).

The Canoebicle reportedly has onboard Wi-Fi, an ergonomic seat, a desk, waterproof speakers, and “watertight” storage. Leinenkugel also added a “Shandy shade to keep the sun out of your eyes and off your monitor so you can make a real splash on Zoom calls for your work-cations this summer!”
If you’re already feeling bummed about not living in one of the three cities above — worry not, fellow remote workers! Leinenkugel has also announced a sweepstakes to win your own personal Canoebicle, so you can spend all your work weeks rolling down the river.
The Summer Shandy Canoebicle Sweepstakes opens the same day as rentals: July 3 at 12 p.m. Central Time. Use the Leinenkugel website for details on how to apply.
In the meantime, we’ll keep an eye out for actual images of the Canoebicle. No doubt it will soon appear on the Instagram feed of a B2B marketing guru near you.
