Join a team that has already cleaned 1 million pounds of trash from America’s rivers, lakes, and oceans. This summer, United By Blue is looking for two new members.
United By Blue is going on one big road trip to clean up America’s waterways. Announced this week, the brand needs two more people to lead the trip, give back to the environment, and get paid to do it.
Cleanup Road Crew
United By Blue is seeking two Cleanups Road Crew Members to work from June to August. Among a host of other responsibilities, the new hires will plan, market, and execute cleanup events.
Trash is no stranger to America’s scenic areas. Take, for example, the massive trash-cleaning events on the Appalachian and Pacific Crest trails. And United By Blue is one brand chipping away at the trash heap.
The B-Corp brand pledges to pick up one pound of trash for every product it sells. Online, the brand sells a broad range of products, from outdoor lifestyle pieces to technical garments. And the pledge has accounted for more than 10,000 volunteers cleaning up over 1 million pounds of trash.
And now, you can play a huge part in the brand’s environmental stewardship.
“Experiencing the U.S. in this way, by serving the rivers and streams that pump life throughout the country, is going to be a transformative experience,” said Kelly Offner, Head of Cleanups. “My only wish is that the van had a jump seat so I could join in the adventure!”

This summer’s road trip will wind from Pennsylvania to Nevada in just two short months. During the job you’ll constantly meet new people, spend nights camping, and clean up trash.
In 2018 alone, United By Blue aims to clean up 500,000 pounds of trash and visit all 50 states. Road trip members can expect to visit 20 states and will likely interact with more than 2,000 volunteers.
A custom-wrapped Sprinter van outfitted with cleanup supplies, snacks, and camping equipment will carry you and your coworkers during the trip.
The job requires many event management skills. Those selected will work with specialty retail shops to orchestrate groups of volunteers to aid in the cleanups.
