Filson and Smokey add function and retro style to camp wardrobe, camp pantry, and more.
A match made on public lands, Filson unveils a host of outdoor-ready gear with the timeless message and moniker of Smokey Bear. Launched this week, the limited-edition capsule includes items fit for the campsite, but suitable for the home or about town.
Filson has a long history of outfitting and helping the U.S. Forest Service (going back to the early 20th century), but its association with Smokey Bear — the official mascot of the USFS — only dates back to the last decade. The collaboration has helped resurrect Smokey, and his enduring message of fire safety, as a pop culture and fashion icon.
This year’s collection spans functional apparel, loungewear, gear, and accessories for the home and camp kitchen. As in years past, Filson only has limited stock of these items — so when they’re gone, they’re gone.

Short-Sleeve Shirts ($55-95)
Three “Pioneer” T-shirt designs accompany a button-down camp shirt. All made from 100% cotton.
Long-Sleeve Shirts ($98-125)
There are two choices for cooler weather or chill mornings in this collection. The $125 button-up flannel is made from midweight brushed cotton (coming in July). The zip-up hoodie is made with heavyweight cotton fleece with Smokey graphics on the breast, sleeve, and back.
Hats ($45-395)
A different look for different noggins, the headwear from this collection runs the gamut. Four different ball caps come in low-profile corduroy, poly-cotton blend, a mesh back, and weather-resistant waxed cotton.
But the real star of the show is the iconic campaign Ranger hat. Made from rabbit fur and bridle leather, this vintage all-weather hat is right at home deep in the woods.
Bags ($89-225)
Grab and go — Filson offers a smaller twill pouch and a larger carryall tote. Both are made with Filson’s Rugged Twill and brass hardware. The pouch measures about 11 by 8 inches with a zippered closure, and the tote has leather handles and a 25L capacity.
Kitchen ($98-250)
Grab a beer, or grab a whole dining set! Choose from a set of four different pint glasses or an entire arrangement of enamelware. The enamel camp kitchen set includes four mugs, plates, and bowls.
Accessories ($55-195)
All that’s left is everything else. Filson has a retro Smokey Bear beach towel, blanket, and bandanna. And for staying comfortable, Filson made casual loungewear shorts and will launch a leather belt with a nickel-finished brass buckle in July.
