An upgrade to the GoPro app, available today for free, lets users access new features including the option to playback videos or photos on their phone or tablet.
A wi-fi link gives the wireless connection. You can take a video and watch it on your phone instantly.
Made for iOS and Android devices, the app can also be used to change settings or share a GoPro video to Facebook minutes after it was shot.
We like the camera control offered by the app. With a few button presses you can change any camera setting, including start/stop recording. This feature gives hands-free control of the camera for easier use in the field.
You can also check battery life, storage levels, and other stats on the app interface.
Your phone screen can double as a viewfinder. An image preview lets you see what your GoPro sees even when the camera is out of reach.
Last, after you capture a video the app gives one-click access to social media to share. The new app is free starting today here on the GoPro site.
